Editing and Critiquing Service

Occasionally aspiring writers ask me to critique or edit their work as they are preparing to submit it for publication. I am primarily qualified to work with book manuscripts for the following audiences:

I do not provide marketing information; i.e., how and where to submit your work once it's ready. There are many excellent books, publications, and conferences that assist writers with this information that is, incidentally, constantly changing. (For those of you in the Philadelphia region, I strongly recommend the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writer's Conference led by Marlene Bagnull and the Philadelphia Writers' Conference.) Among the publications are Writer's Market, Christian Writers' Market Guide (books), as well as The Christian Communicator, The Writer, and Writers Digest, and Poets and Writers.

If you would like me to critique or edit your manuscript, I charge $30 per hour. Please e-mail me with a brief (one paragraph) summary of your article or book idea and its proposed length and audience. If I decide to work with you, I will give you a price for this service and let you know how much of your work to send. (It's usually the entire magazine article or one sample chapter plus an outline of the entire book.)
